- What makes the corporate culture at Vision so different?
That it actually exists and is a conscious decision we make. So many businesses speak of their culture, but it isn't a priority or something derived through a logical and concerted process that is then put into practice on a daily basis. At Vision, the entire team, not just senior staff, is responsible for creating, maintaining, and enforcing those core principles that make up our unique corporate "vision." - Sum up Vision's philosophy of business in one word or sentence.
Mutual respect; It's how we treat our boards, our homeowners, our partner vendors, and each other. - Sum up your philosophy of life in one word or sentence.
"I choose to be:" Whether it's happy, professional, ethical or successful, life is a choice. - Put on your salesman's cap. In the space of a Tweet - no more than 140 characters - sell a prospective client on doing business with Vision Community Management.
We're here to solidify, execute, and realize your community's vision. Let's see if partnering makes sense for your board and your neighborhood. - What was "your finest moment," the thing you're most proud of?
This is, and always has been a moving target. In my 2009 wrap-up, I am most proud of the fact that Vision created nine new jobs, increased in size by 23.5%, and never deviated from its core mission or principles. - What can't you live without?
- Passion in all things
- Love and respect of family and friends
- My dreams and a higher sense of purpose
- Quiet downtime from the rigors of life
- A healthy sense of humor and irony
Pam Secord-Rottner - CMCA, AMS, CAAM
Senior VP of Field Operations
One word probably best describes my background: "varied." In 1989, I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mortuary Science from Cypress College in Orange County, California. Four years later, I earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.
In 1998, I moved to the Valley of the Sun to work in the HOA industry. Over the past eleven years, I have amassed a wide variety of experience managing single-family homes, condominiums, active adult communities and high rises. I recently joined the staff at Vision Community Management, making the move because their progressive corporate philosophy appealed to me. Outside of work, I am active in the Racing Home Greyhound Association, which places racing dogs when they retire. I am also proud to be a Board member of The Leadership Centre, a non-profit corporation dedicated to the education of HOA Board members, homeowners and city leaders.
I live in Gilbert with my husband and three children and consider myself to be blessed with meaningful work, a wonderful family and a sense of purpose in life.
- What makes the corporate culture at Vision so different?
Vision employees enjoy coming to work every day, because of the positive environment, care and concern the company has for them. It is the most unique environment I've ever worked in. We have very little turnover in staff, which promotes stability with our client base. - Sum up Vision's philosophy of business in one word or sentence.
We truly care for our clients, and it shows in everything we do. - Sum up your philosophy of life in one word or sentence.

It all comes back to service, and, again, treating our clients the way we would like to be treated. - Tell us some of the most compelling reasons we should be with Vision.
First and foremost, Vision's level of service to our clients exceeds industry standards. There is a strong commitment to training and development of our staff, which allows them to excel in their duties and truly be experts in their field. - What was "your finest moment," the thing you're most proud of?
I would have to say joining the Vision team. I'm very proud to be a part of an organization which is based on caring, and truly grateful to have such a supportive team and structure. - What can't you live without?
Fulfillment in both my work and personal life.
Mark A. Schmit - CLDP, CAAM
VP of Finance and Technology
I was raised in Appleton, Wisconsin, about 30 miles south of Green Bay. So, yes, I am a proud "cheesehead." After earning a BBA in Accounting and a Law degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, I went to work for my father's retirement plan administration business. I became an owner and COO, helping to expand the business from 40 clients to more than 5800 clients, with six offices in three states.
After selling the company to a subsidiary of M&I Bank, I spent three years in retirement before being asked to join the team at Vision Community Management, where I handle high level accounting functions and technology. I have served on the board of directors for my community of over 1600 homes for the past 10 years. I am also certified in Arizona as a legal document preparer.
Outside of work, I am a proud father of four and an avid outdoorsman, handyman and pilot.

While I'm proud of many of my accomplishments, my most memorable moment was watching the birth of my first daughter. The births of my other three children were pretty cool, as well. - What can't you live without?

Melissa Paiz - CAAM
VP of Administration
I have a strong background in customer service, so it's not surprising I love working at Vision Community Management so much. I joined Vision in December, 2004 as a Front Office Coordinator and it wasn't long before I was named Community Administrator, where I developed many of the in-house processes that are still in place at Vision.
As Vice President of Administration, I have a firm knowledge of the day-to-day workings of Vision, and strive to ensure our trademark customer service is always front and center in all our dealings with clients.
I am proud to say I hold the CAAM designation from the Arizona Association of Community Managers. I am also proud of my role in helping Vision grow to its current status as an industry leader and look forward to partnering with your community to meet its needs and goals.

Kim Smith - CAASP
Collection Service Manager
While completing a degree in Environmental Science at Grand Canyon University I accepted a part-time position with an HOA management company in Scottsdale, which developed into a career with their collection department. The experience and knowledge that I gained were a perfect fit when the opportunity arose for me to accept a new role with Vision in their collection department.
When not at work I enjoy exploring outdoor trails with my husband in our four-wheel drives or racing around the dunes in California and Oregon on ATV's.
